Meet baby Celius

  |   Uncategorized

Celius was born in Haiti at only 28 weeks gestation. He was very small, weighing a little over a pound at birth. He was admitted into Hospital Bernard Mevs Project Medishare’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In the NICU he was in an incubator for three months and received a feeding tube as he was born unable to breastfeed. In that time, Celius gained more than two pounds and was released home.

Celius and his mother return regularly to Hospital Bernard Mevs for check-ups and to see his friends working in the Pediatric Department. He is now a healthy and happy boy, meeting all his age appropriate milestones! A special thanks to our staff, volunteers and donors who continue to support our work with preemies such as Celius.
