A Special Message from Dr. Barth A. Green
Dear Friends,
As I reflect on this year, I am so proud to share with you the incredible progress that has occurred thanks to your dedication and support. Project Medishare’s programs have expanded to serve more people and employ more Haitians than ever before. We now serve more than 180,000 people annually around the country, and operate the country’s only critical care, trauma and rehabilitation hospital, which houses the only Newborn and Pediatric Intensive Care Units for premature infants and sick children, and the only Intensive Care Unit in the country with ventilators for critically ill adults. We are building capacity in the healthcare sector by training hundreds of Haitian doctors, nurses and allied health professionals using our “train the trainers” model. Project Medishare continues to run multiple rural community health clinics, a brand new maternal health center, a cholera treatment center, and the nation’s most advanced prosthetics facility. Another exciting accomplishment is that, in collaboration with our partners, we trained and now employ the first-ever emergency response EMT/paramedic team.
Despite of all of these advances, dirty water and malnutrition remain the leading causes of death for children in Haiti. In order to address these problems, we are building clean water wells, distributing aquatablets, opening a new factory to produce Akamil (a mix of locally grown crops infused with micronutrients) to put an end to starvation, while creating jobs and economic opportunity for local farmers, and the list goes on. As we approach the two-year anniversary of the devastating earthquake of January 12th, 2010, Project Medishare needs your help NOW more than EVER to sustain these groundbreaking programs. The holiday season is a special time for giving, and this year, why not give the gift of hope and life through Project Medishare? With just a few clicks, you can support these lifesaving programs in honor of your friends, family, colleagues, and loved ones. Giving selflessly to those less fortunate during the holidays is the most meaningful and gratifying gift you could give.
Here are some ways you can help Haiti & give the gift of life! Simply click below on the red button of the program you would like to sponsor on behalf of someone special. If you would like us to send them a card about this donation in their honor, please forward your email donation receipt to info@projectmedishare.org with the recipient’s name and mailing address or email address (whichever you prefer). Project Medishare will send them a very special acknowledgement about your donation on their behalf:

$5Pays For Medicine To Save A Child
infected with Cholera
Transmitted by dirty drinking water, cholera can kill a child just 3 hours. Yet it costs just $5 to pay for the medicine to cure them.

$10Protects a child from worms &
hunger for a year
Internal parasites steal vitamins and nutrition from the bodies of thousands of Haitian children – resulting in hunger and even death. $10 pays for medicine that prevents worms for a whole year.

$20Provides medical care for
newborn babies
In rural Haiti, most babies are born at home with no access to medical care or a skilled birth attendant. Mothers often die in childbirth. $20 provides newborns with the best medical care – and the opportunity to grow up strong and happy.

$100Supports children affected
by HIV/AIDS
Your donation helps families affected by HIV/AIDS survive, providing medical treatment, school tuition, uniforms and supplies, and birth certificates for the children, as well as jobs for the parents.

$200Pays for lifesaving surgery
for a baby
In Haiti, many babies are born with an often-fatal problem called “hydrocephalus” that makes their head grow very large. One surgery can save the life of a baby so they can grow up and have a normal life.

$800Provides a new leg for a child
who lost his limb in the earthquake
This money pays for a new prosthetic leg for a child amputee, which allows them to get back on their feet and walk, run and play again.

$2500Pays for a whole school’s
medical care for an entire year
At the School Based Health Center, all of the children get check-ups with pediatricians, vitamins, vaccinations, and health education to teach them important prevention methods.

$5000gives clean water to a village
in Haiti by building a well
By providing clean water to an entire village in Haiti, it prevents many fatal and disabling diseases, and also improves general health and sanitation.
With a gift to Project Medishare, you cannot go wrong. Every dollar donated is spent transparently and goes toward saving lives in a country that desperately needs our continued support. From all of us here at Project Medishare for Haiti, we would like to wish you and yours a very Happy, Healthy, and Wonderful Holiday Season. We are grateful for each and every one of you, and look forward to a very exciting new year of progress for Project Medishare and the deserving people we serve in Haiti.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Barth A. Green President and Co-Founder, Project Medishare for Haiti, Inc.
