Project Medishare Named 2017 Top-Rated Nonprofit

  |   News

We are excited to announce that Project Medishare has been named a “2017 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of charity and nonprofit user reviews.

Project Medishare earned the award based on ratings and reviews by our community of volunteers and donors. Currently, we hold a 4.83 star rating (out of 5), demonstrating the trust we’ve earned from our supporters, and our impact on the ground in Haiti.

“We are honored by this accomplishment,” said Renee Lewis, Project Medishare’s Executive Director.  “Without our volunteers and donors, we wouldn’t be able to provide thousands of Haitians with access to healthcare. It’s reassuring to know that we have their trust because they’ve seen firsthand the value and importance of our work in Haiti.”

For more than 20 years, Project Medishare has been improving quality healthcare access in Haiti, while also building local capacity. In their reviews, many long-time supporters noted the progress they’ve witnessed over the years, particularly at Hospital Bernard Mevs in Port-au-Prince — a partnership that was born out of the 2010 earthquake.

Here’s part of what Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Judie Morton said in her review: “I’ve gone to Hospital Bernard Mevs three times with Project Medishare. I’m planning to go again soon. It’s really encouraging to see the changes and the strides that have been made at the hospital. Volunteers like myself, were initially told to work alongside the Haitian staff and teach when needed. It wasn’t long before they taught me more than vice versa.”
